The app stops playing when my phone's screen turns off or app is backgrounded

If the app is stopping when your phone's screen goes dark, turns off, goes to sleep, or is backgrounded, it is likely an Android level setting which is designed to save battery life. In order to find and turn this setting off, please follow the steps below:

  • Go to phone settings
  • Go to Device Care
  • Select Battery
  • Find and select iHeartRadio
  • Disable "Put app to sleep"

If that doesn't work or is already off, please try the following steps:

  • Go to phone settings
  • Go to Apps
  • Select iHeartRadio
  • Select Optimize Battery Usage
  • Search for iHeartRadio and disable
