If the app is stopping when your phone's screen goes dark, turns off, goes to sleep, or when you background the app and open a different app, it is likely a known iOS issue. Here's a few steps to try.
If you have a home button on your device:
- Double click the Home button (the button on the front of your device) and all multitasking apps will appear.
- Swipe up on the iHeartRadio app to remove it from running in the background.
- Click the Home button again to go back to the normal screen.
- Tap to open the iHeartRadio app and play audio.
- Try backgrounding the app to ensure audio continues to play.
If you do not have a home button on your device:
- If you're in an app, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to return to your Home screen.
- Swipe up and to the right to reveal all of your open apps.
- Put your finger on the middle of the iHeartRadio app and swipe up on the iHeartRadio app to close it.
- Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to return to your home screen.
- Tap to open the iHeartRadio app and play audio.
- Try backgrounding the app to ensure audio continues to play.
